All India Ambedkar Mahasabha (Regd.) Launches Membership Drive in Punjab
Pledge Taken to Propagate the Ideals of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Among the Masses:
Chandigarh, June 26, 2026:
The All India Ambedkar Mahasabha (Registered) has launched a membership drive in Punjab with the aim of taking the ideas, principles, and values of the Indian Constitution—as championed by Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar—to every section of society and strengthening the organization at the grassroots level.
Following a successful launch in Haryana, this campaign has now been extended to Punjab. A special event was organized at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh to mark the occasion, where Dr. Baljit Kaur, Cabinet Minister for Social Welfare in the Punjab Government, formally inaugurated the membership drive at 10:00 AM on June 26.
Dr. Rakesh Bahadur, National President of the Mahasabha, stated that the organization is currently active in 18 states. He emphasized that the All India Ambedkar Mahasabha is not limited to any single caste, religion, or class; rather, it is a shared platform for all those who believe in the ideology of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, as well as in social justice, equality, and the Constitution.
He remarked that Baba Saheb’s life was not merely a story of struggle but a symbol of the fight for education, self-respect, rights, and human dignity. His message was that education is the most powerful weapon to liberate society from ignorance, discrimination, and inequality.
National General Secretary Amrik Singh Bangar stated that the primary objective of the membership drive is to strengthen the organization at the village, town, and city levels. Through this initiative, people will be made aware of the fundamental rights, duties, and social responsibilities enshrined in the Constitution.

He noted that Baba Saheb Dr. Ambedkar struggled throughout his life to establish equality, liberty, and fraternity in society. He made historic contributions toward securing women’s rights, protecting the interests of workers, promoting education, and ensuring dignity for the weaker sections of society. Reena Gavaskar Valmiki, National Treasurer of the Mahasabha, stated that the meeting involved detailed discussions on the organization’s future strategy, issues related to social causes, and the action plan for the membership drive. She mentioned that this campaign, which began in Ambala, would be extended to various states across the country in a phased manner.
She explained that, in furtherance of Baba Saheb’s policies and the principle of equal participation for women, leadership responsibilities have been entrusted to women in five states to further strengthen their role in nation-building.
Nirmal Jeet, the Punjab State President, stated that the goal of the All India Ambedkar Mahasabha is to disseminate Baba Saheb’s ideas to the masses, eradicate social evils and caste-based discrimination, and build a society founded on constitutional values.
He noted that Baba Saheb’s dream was to create an India where every individual enjoys equal opportunities and no one faces discrimination based on birth, caste, or economic status. He believed that democracy should not merely be a political system but also a vehicle for social and economic equality.
People associated with the Ambedkarite ideology from various regions—including Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh—participated in the event. Distinguished individuals present included Senior Vice President Palvinder Singh, State General Secretary Rajinder Pal Singh, Rajbir Singh Bharatiya, Aman Jolly, Om Prakash, Indra Ranga, Naresh Bodh, Raj Kumar, Jaspal Singh, Sunil, Bhagat Raj, Mange Ram Katyal, Balvinder Kumar, Anshul Sharma, Ajit Singh, Parminder Singh, Kuldeep Rai, Harbans Singh, Joga Singh, Surjit Kadyana, Dr. Mohinder Kumar, Love Kumar, Devendra Tank, singer Sonu Sherdil, Mohinder Pal, and Rajinder Kumar.
The All India Ambedkar Mahasabha called upon all sections of society to come forward, adopt Baba Saheb’s message—”Educate, Organize, and Agitate”—in their lives, and contribute to building an India that is equal, just, and grounded in constitutional values.
