Seva Kendra Mulazam Union Punjab warns government
Seva Kendra Mulazam Union Punjab warns government: Today, an important meeting of the office bearers and workers of Sewa Kendra Mulazam Union Punjab was held at Mohali Phase 6, in which Punjab AITUC General Secretary Mr. Nirmal Singh Dhaliwal and Vice President Mr. Vinod Chug specially attended. The meeting was chaired by the state president of the union Baljinder Singh Majha and other senior office bearers.
During the meeting, the employees expressed deep concern over the backtracking of the previous agreement reached with the state government and Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora.
Union leaders said that after the strike that lasted from May 26 to June 9, 2026, the employees had joined duty from June 10 only on the assurance of the minister. It was agreed that all the employees would be kept in service without any hindrance and salaries would be released after correcting the absences incurred during the strike.
However, the union leaders alleged that the bureaucracy and the minister’s staff were not even picking up the phones. The employees’ absences have not been corrected yet and the government is going back on its promises.
In this meeting, the union reiterated its major demands, which include bringing the service center employees directly under the department instead of the company, implementing the minimum wage grade with a suitable increase in salaries, giving the benefit of Sundays and other government holidays, paying overtime or TA/DA for additional duty, and releasing the pending salaries of security guards immediately. Along with this, the demand to stop discrimination against employees was also raised loudly.

Finally, the union has made it clear that if the government does not fulfill these legal and reasonable demands soon, then after 10 July 2026, a fierce struggle will be started again using the rights of the trade union, for which the entire responsibility will lie with the Punjab government.
