10 candidates file nomination forms in Mohali Press Club elections; election results on 29
S.A.S. Nagar, March 26, 2025:
The work of filling out nomination forms for the election of the governing body of Mohali Press Club for the year 2025-26 was completed today, March 26, 2025. Forms were collected from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Harinder Pal Singh Harry. Meanwhile, the Patwari-Shahi Group panel submitted nomination papers for 9 office bearers (President Sukhdev Singh Patwari, General Secretary Gurmeet Singh Shahi, C. Vice President Sushil Garcha, Vice Presidents Manjit Singh Chana and Vijay Pal, Organizing Secretary Mrs. Neelam Kumari, Joint Secretaries Dr. Ravinder Kaur and Vijay Kumar, and Cashier Rajiv Taneja), while one form was filled by Tilak Raj for the post of General Secretary. Apart from this, no nomination papers were submitted by any other panel/candidate.
Meanwhile, as per the program announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Harinder Pal Singh Harry, Election Commissioner Amardeep Singh Saini and Kulwinder Singh Bawa, the three-member Election Commission scrutinized the forms after the last date of withdrawal of forms at 3.00 pm today, according to which the Patwari-Shahi Panel received 9 forms and 1 form from an independent candidate. None of these candidates withdrew their forms and all the forms were found correct during the verification. Thus, 2 forms have been filled for the post of General Secretary, while one form each has been filled for all the other posts. Thus, the election for the post of General Secretary is to be held, hence the results of the remaining candidates cannot be declared yet.
The Election Commission further said that now this election will be held on 29.03.2025 as per the earlier scheduled program from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm and the results of all the posts will be declared on 29.03.2025 itself after counting of votes after the stipulated time.
