SAS Nagar, April 4: Fed up with the continuous neglect of the demands of the General Category by the regional parties of Punjab and the national political parties, finally various and fraternal organizations working for the General Category of Punjab have unanimously formed the political wing General Category Punjab. . In which Balbir Singh Phuglana from district Hoshiarpur has been elected as president, Jasveer Singh Gadang from district Mohali as vice president and Jagdish Singla Sangrur as general secretary.
During a press conference at Mohali Press Club today, the leaders of the wing said that the need to establish this wing arose because the regional parties and national political parties of Punjab have always ignored the demands of the general category and general class people and They are being exploited continuously. He said that these political parties have formed political wings of different categories, but none of the political parties have formed general category wings. Therefore, the people of the general class have decided to form a political wing of the general class. He said that whichever political party puts the demands of the general class in its manifesto or gives a written assurance in these wing elections, that party will be strongly supported.
The above leaders expressed their anguish against the traditional political parties of the state and said that the judgments pronounced by the honorable courts at different times are not implemented and the constitution itself is amended to abolish these judgments. He also said that many forums have been created by governments over time to listen to the problems of other classes, but no such platform has been created to listen to the problems of general category people. After a long time, the Channi government of Congress established a ‘Commission for General Category Punjab’ in Punjab on the lines of Gujarat, but even after two years, the present government of Punjab has not nominated any chairman for this commission. And no office staff has been deployed.
There is a lot of opposition from general category people. The leader of the opposition party, Pratap Singh Bajwa, raised the issue of the appointment of the chairman of the General Category Commission in the Vidhan Sabha, but still the government did not take this issue seriously. The leaders further said that this is the reason why we were forced to form a political wing for the general category. District level units will also be formed soon. A general category student wing will also be formed in due course.
Meanwhile, the elected leaders of the formation appealed to the Chief Minister of Punjab and said that the General Category Commission should be activated immediately so that the displeasure of the General Category people can be avoided. Dilbara Singh and Harchand Singh Fatehgarh Sahib, Surinder Singh Basi and Harminder Singh Sohi District Mohali, Avtar Singh Patiala, Surinderpal Singh Khatra Mohali, Jagtar Singh Bhungrani, Varinder Singh Bhindar District Hoshiarpur and Balveer Singh Patiala were present.
