Non-teaching staff union of aided colleges announces strike against government for not accepting 6th pay commission
* The union announced a peaceful protest in front of DPI (College) Mohali office on 15th December.
* Out of approximately 2600 posts, only 825 employees are employed, the rest are vacant.
Mohali, October 12 (): Employees of Private College Non-Teaching Employees Union have been living a hellish life for a long time due to the anti-employee policies of Punjab. The government is not accepting their legitimate demands and they are forced to agitate. Accordingly, the union has announced to hold a peaceful protest in front of DPI (College) Mohali office on 15, 2023.
Speaking during a press conference at Mohali Press Club here today, Aided College Union Working President Rajeev Sharma and General Secretary Jagdeep Singh said that the State Government had announced (pay parity) on 1.9.1978 that the employees of aided colleges Will also get the same salary as non-teaching employees of government colleges.
But for the last two years, the government has been giving step-motherly treatment to the non-teaching staff of government colleges by giving them the Sixth Pay Commission and other benefits, while we have been deprived of this benefit, which is sheer atrocities on us. The leaders said that the government repeatedly demanding data from the colleges concerned shows that it is adopting a policy of evasiveness.
The leaders further said that in this regard they had written to the Higher Education Minister of AAP government of Punjab, Mr. Harjot Singh Bains and Finance Minister S. Harpal Singh has also met Cheema, but Gargoyle is still there.
He said that there are about 2600 posts in these colleges, out of which only 825 employees are working, while the rest of the posts have been frozen by the government. Not only this, but even in the 5th Pay Commission, this category was not given full benefits of revised pay scale, housing and medical allowances.
The above leaders declared that after seeing the anti-employee actions of the government, we will be forced to take the step of struggle. Therefore, the organization has decided that by closing the aided colleges, a peaceful protest will be held in front of the DPI (College) Mohali office from 11 am to 1.30 pm on 15 December 2023.
Meanwhile, if there is any unexpected shortage, then the entire responsibility for it will be on the present state government. Also, the union leaders have requested the government that our important demands should be implemented as soon as possible, so that all the employees can earn a living for themselves and their families.
On this occasion, the organization’s advisor Savinder Singh Gola, Ravi Maini, Deepak Sharma, Madam Nirmal Kaur, Amrik Singh Rajla, Prem Singh Superintendent, Harvinder Singh, Sarabjit Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Ravinderjit Singh Virk, Bachitar Singh, Tejinder Singh Senior Lecturer, Navdeep Singh etc. were present.
