Honorable High Court issues notice to Panchayat Minister Saud and department officials in embezzlement of Rs 120 crore 87 lakh in Ludhiana
Honorable High Court issues notice to Panchayat Minister Saud and department: Chandigarh September 29 (PP) In connection with the multi-crore embezzlement in Block Ludhiana-2, District Ludhiana, Mrs. Navdeep Kaur, District Development and Panchayat Officer Ludhiana, conducted a preliminary investigation and sent an investigation report to the senior officer of the department, Mr. Jagwinder Singh Sandhu, Director Shamlat Shell (now retired) and Mr. Sandhu sent the final investigation report of this case to the government.
But it is very unfortunate that during the investigation, the records of about five villages were not presented to Mrs. Navdeep Kaur and Mr. Sandhu by the accused. While even today the records are missing. Talking to reporters, Sukhpal Singh Gill said that the government records of about five villages in six villages belonging to block Ludhiana-2, including Salempur, Sekhewal, Selkiana, Baukar Gujran, Dhanansu and Kariana Khurd, were destroyed by Bagga Singh Panchayat Secretary and Jashandeep Chandel (under suspension).
We have given several applications to the Panchayat Minister and senior officials of the department regarding the destroyed records of the Gram Panchayats. But Panchayat Minister Taranpreet Singh Saud and senior officials of the department did not take any action against the accused of embezzlement in connection with the applications and neither were the records recovered from the accused. In this regard, a case was filed by Sukhpal Singh Gill in the honorable court.
The honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court, accepting the arguments of our lawyer Deepak Nayyar, after hearing it issued a notice to the current Panchayat Minister Mr. Taranpreet Singh Saud and the officials of the department and sought their reply.
He further said that due to his exposure of this multi-crore embezzlement, he and his family are facing threats from the officials, employees and owners of the firms related to it, hence he sought police protection from the Honorable Court, which passed an order to the concerned security officials.
