Election Commission releases election program in Mohali: Mohali Press Club Elections: Election Commission releases election program, election on 5 Mohali, April 1 (): In view of the annual election of Mohali Press Club to be held on April 5, 2026, the Election Commission has released the election program today. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer Harinder Pal Singh Harry, in which Electoral Officer Kulwinder Singh Bawa and Gurmeet Singh Randhawa were present.

Releasing the election program, the Election Commission said that the forms for filing nominations for the April 5, 2026 election will be available till 10.00 am on April 3, 2026 and the time for filing nominations has been kept from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, while the time for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed on April 4, 2026 from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm.

The scrutiny of nomination forms will be held on 4th April 2026 from 3.00 PM to 4.00 PM. The election process will be held on 5th April 2026 from 10.00 AM to 2.00 PM. The election will be held at Mohali Press Club, Room No. 387 (Backside), Phase-2, Mohali, while the election results will be declared on 5th April 2026 at 4.00 PM. If the office bearers are elected unanimously or unopposed by 4th April 2026, then the results can be declared after 4.00 PM on the same day.

It will be mandatory to obtain the annual fee and no-dues certificate from the club manager before filling the nomination form and a non-refundable amount of Rs. 800 will be charged as fee at the time of submission of the nomination form. The Election Commission also informed that for the right to vote, the club members will have to clear all their dues by 12.00 am on 3 April 2026.

A candidate contesting the Press Club election will not be able to propose the name of another candidate contesting the election, i.e., they will not be able to propose each other among themselves and an eligible member of the club will be able to propose the name of only one candidate.
