    Chandigarh Punjabi Manch celebrated Chandigarh Foundation Day as Black Day -Punjabi supporters attacked U.T. in Sector 17, Chandigarh. protest against administration

    Chandigarh, 1 November, Chandigarh Punjabi Manch today celebrated Chandigarh Foundation Day on 1st November as Black Day, due to which Punjabi well-wishers in Sector 17, Chandigarh, organized a protest against U.T. Protested and raised slogans against the administration.

    Rural Sangharsh Committee Chandigarh, Central Punjabi Writers’ Assembly, Group Gurdwara Management Organization, Trade Unions and Forum President Sukhjit Singh Sukha Hallomajra, General Secretary Comrade Devi Dayal Sharma, Secretary Gurpreet Singh Somal, Cashier Sharanjit Singh, Baba Gurdayal Singh, Khuda Alisher, participated in the protest.

    Baba Sadhu Singh Sarangpur, Tara Singh, Raghubir Singh, Gurjot Sahni from Gurdwara Organization, Municipal Corporation Councilor Hardeep Singh Buterla, Councilor Satinder Singh Sarangpur, Councilor Kuljeet Singh Dhanas, Joga Singh, Pralad Singh from Tarkasheel Society, Balkar Sidhu from Writers’ Sabha, Mohali. Municipal councilor Satbir Singh Dhanoa said that language is the real identity of an area. In the city of Chandigarh, which was built after destroying Punjabi speaking villages, the mother tongue Punjabi is being discriminated against.

    He said that Chandigarh city was established after the villages of Punjab were destroyed, after which the administrative officials coming here from other states from time to time changed the administrative language here to English. Chandigarh Punjabi Manch has been struggling for a long time to give Punjabi language the status of first and administrative language.

    Demand letters have also been sent repeatedly to the administrator but no response is being received from the administration. He warned the administration that unless the administration gives the status of Punjabi language as the first and administrative language in Chandigarh, the struggle will continue.

    Addressing Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh President and Corporation Councilor Hardeep Singh Buterla advised to expand the platform and said that people should be organized by going to the villages of Chandigarh and letters should be written to the Union Home Ministry from the villages from where Chandigarh will be sent. Decisions are taken about.

    Councilors Satinder Singh and Kuljeet Singh Dhanas said that efforts will be made to discuss this issue of Punjabi language in the upcoming house meeting of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh.

    On this occasion, apart from others, journalist Tarlochan Singh, CTU. Gurcharan Singh from Workers Union, Joginder Singh from Literary Vidya Kendra, Manjeet Kaur Mohali, journalist Amarjeet Singh Bathlana, Jasbir Singh Dadumajra etc. were also present.
