He said that on August 8, 2023, SI Ranjit Singh was summoned by the District Welfare Officer, Patiala in the matter of verification of fake certificates, after which he started making a source report against me to get information about the fake certificates. He said that when I was helping the government in investigating fake SC certificates, a DSP of Vigilance threatened me with a case for doing so.
He further said that a channel in the name of Punjab Vigilance Bureau published the news of his absence from the office despite being summoned thrice which is completely false. He said that this news has been done to defame him. He further said that the Vigilance officer has attended the office after being called by Vigilance, but the news of his absconding is completely false. He demanded from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann that if there is any complaint against him, it should be investigated by an outside police officer and action should be taken against those with fake degrees. On the other hand, Punjab Vigilance Bureau AIG Manmohan Sharma said that reports have been received against Malvinder Singh Sidhu for creating false assets by taking records from officers while he was the AIG of Vigilance in Patiala district. Due to which Vigilance has prepared a source report against him. This is for approval from the DGP. Three summons have been issued to him in this regard. He said that he has participated in it only once. He said that his presence in the office is also negligible, this is being investigated and the log book is also being examined.
