Shiv Sena Hindustan Holds Massive Trishul March from Mohali to Chandigarh
Thousands of workers from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh participate • Memorandum carrying 11-point demands submitted at CM House • Demand for ₹781 crore compensation for terrorism-affected Hindu families
Mohali: A massive Punjab-level Trishul March was organized from Mohali under the leadership of Pawan Gupta, National President of Shiv Sena Hindustan and Sher-e-Hind. Thousands of workers from different districts of Punjab, as well as Haryana and Chandigarh, participated in the march along with representatives of various Hindu organizations and office-bearers of Shiv Sena Hindustan.
The main objective of the march was to demand justice for Hindu families affected during the period of terrorism in Punjab and the disbursement of the ₹781 crore compensation reportedly sanctioned by the government for the affected families. The organization also raised its 11-point charter of demands before the government.
The Shiv Sainiks proceeded towards Chandigarh in a large convoy from Mohali. While the Mohali Police allowed the convoy to move forward, the Chandigarh Police stopped the march at the Mohali-Chandigarh border by deploying a heavy police force and putting up barricades.
Following this, dozens of senior leaders of Shiv Sena Hindustan were taken by buses to the Chief Minister’s House, where the delegation submitted a memorandum containing its 11-point demands. The delegation was assured that the government would consider the demands and take a decision soon.
“If Demands Are Not Met, Agitation Will Be Intensified”: Pawan Gupta
Addressing the media after returning from the CM House, Pawan Gupta said that the Trishul March was completely peaceful and had been successfully conducted.
He said the Shiv Sainiks reached the CM House carrying Trishuls and submitted a memorandum containing their 11-point demands. He added that the government had assured the delegation that the demands would be considered and a decision would be taken soon.
Pawan Gupta further said that if the government failed to take concrete action on their demands, Shiv Sena Hindustan would intensify its protest in the coming days. He said the organisation would continue to fight for the interests of Hindus and justice for terrorism-affected families with full strength.
Pandal Packed Within Hours
The programme venue witnessed a major surge in attendance around noon. What was relatively empty in the morning became completely packed by 12 noon, leaving little or no space for people to sit.
Women Participate Alongside Men
Women also participated actively in the massive Trishul March. A large number of women workers from different areas joined the programme and expressed their support for the organisation’s demands.
Pawan Gupta Responds Strongly to BJP and Congress
Responding to questions from the media, Pawan Gupta also criticised both the BJP and Congress over the issue. He appealed to political parties to rise above political considerations and address the concerns of Hindu families affected by terrorism in Punjab.
The programme was attended by Shiv Sena Hindustan National General Secretary Krishna Sharma, Punjab Executive President Sanjeev Dem, Brahmanand Giri Ji of Juna Akhara, Hindu Takht’s Ashok Tiwari, National President of Hindu Takht Mahamandaleshwar Vishwamitra Nand Ji Maharaj, District Mohali President B.N. Giri, District In-charge Akhilesh Singh, besides a large number of other office-bearers and workers.
