On Republic Day Bhagat Puran Singh Environmental Conservation Society: On the 77th Republic Day celebrated by the Punjab Government at the district level on January 26, Bhagat Puran Singh Environmental Conservation Society President Gurmail Singh Maujowal, Chairman Harshdeep Singh Sara, Advisor Harinder Pal Singh Harry, Press Secretary Dharampal Hoshiarpuri were honored by the Honorable Shri Mohinder Bhagat Ji, Cabinet Minister for Defence Services Welfare, Freedom Fighters, and Horticulture Minister, Punjab, for their valuable service in the field of social service and environmental conservation on the occasion of a function organized at the district level. On this special occasion, Deputy Commissioner, SSP and many eminent personalities were present.
This information was given to the journalists by the President of the Society Gurmail Singh Maujowal. He said that the society has been working continuously for social service and environmental conservation for the last 20 years. The main activities of the society include organizing blood donation camps, medical camps, campaigning against drugs, educating children about traffic rules, planting fruit and shade trees and taking care of the trees.
The society has adopted 12 schools around Mohali. Financial assistance is also provided to the needy children studying in these schools. While thanking the district administration for the honor, Advisor Harinder Pal Singh Harry said that this honor gives us the courage to do more work in the field of social service and environmental conservation. Earlier, the society has been honored by GMADA and Nagar Niyam.
